The Board of Trustees is comprised of thirty members, one third of whom complete their term each year. This policy has allowed the Foundation to benefit from a board mix that has an experienced and, at the same time, fresh perspective. The primary responsibility of a trustee is to implement the fund raising activities of the Foundation. Historically, the Foundation has contributed more than $25 million to the San Marino Unified School District; and an average of more than $2,700,000 in each of the past several years.
Trustees are expected to attend monthly board meetings, represent the Foundation in the community and actively participate on a fund raising committee. Trustees work each year in one of four primary areas of the Foundation: Annual Campaign, Special Projects, Community Relations or Events.
